This page explains what happens to your information when a call is answered by a Hellio AI receptionist, in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What we collect

When someone calls a business that uses Hellio, we keep a recording of the call, a written transcript of what was said, and the caller's phone number.

Why we collect it

We use this to actually answer the call and do what was asked - like booking an appointment - and to keep a record the business can check back on. We also use it to improve how well the AI receptionist understands and handles calls over time.

Calls are handled by AI

The person answering the phone is an AI system, not a human. Every call starts by saying so, along with letting the caller know the call may be recorded. That AI can make real decisions during the call - for example, booking an appointment straight into the business's calendar based on what the caller says.

You can always ask for a real person

Any caller can ask to speak to a real person at any point in the call. The AI won't try to talk them out of it - it will let them know someone from the business will call them back.

How long we keep it

Call recordings and transcripts are kept for 90 days and then automatically deleted. We might keep something longer if we have a genuine reason to - for example, an ongoing dispute or a legal requirement - but that's the exception, not the default.

Questions

If you spoke to a business using Hellio and have questions about a call, the business you called is the right place to start - they can see the same recording and transcript we do.
